The After Parties~ the Oscars

What a fabulous night at the Oscars last night! I'll be posting the dresses later today but for now I wanted to share a few of the post award show pics. I love seeing what happens after the show is over. Oh, how I dream of attending, maybe some year.... sigh.

MiTAC Plans 4 Tablets with Integrated GPS

MiTAC Plans 4 Tablets with Integrated GPS
MiTAC is better known for making GPS systems and mobile entertainment devices than full-fledged tablet computers. But according to SoftPedia, MiTAC will be showing off four new Android tablets at CeBIT in Germany next week.

The first two are 7 and 10 inch Android tablets featuring Google Android 2.3. Both will features 1080p HD video support and HDMI output as well as built-in GPS, which should come as no surprise given their pedigree. These tablets will be called the Valar 7 and Valar 10, respectively.

MiTAC also has a 7 inch ruggedirzed Android tablet called the Ulmo which will feature a waterproof casing.

The final tablet is a smaller model called the Zeus which features a 7 inch display and dual GPS receivers, which apparently offers some sort of enhanced GPS capability.

There’s no word on how much MiTAC’s new tablets will cost.

It's FRIDAY!

{this photo of Audrey Hepburn & Grace Kelley backstage at the Academy Awards in the 50's never gets old. What a pic!}

Happy Weekend! I am so happy to see Friday morning come! I have a fun and busy weekend ahead. Tomorrow morning I am starting off with a training run for the relay race I am running, volunteering at a race pick up, I am attending the Bridal Trends show in Miami. Sunday I will be up bright and early for the Riverwalk Run Race {I am in charge of breakfast after. Not surprised.} Later that afternoon Beau has the day off and we are making a stop in midtown Miami at the Nail Bar. This is place is such a great place for a pedi/mani! Maybe I can even convince Beau to do something:) Then Sunday night....get ready for the Oscars! I am a huge fan of the Oscars. I absolutely adore watching them. I am wishing that I had time to set up a soiree, next year. This year I'll be home with some bubbly and homemade popcorn cheering on Anne and James while they host. Should be a good show! Here are a few links I'll be reading throughout the weekend in my spare time:)

What a great idea for your bridesmaid. The girls at Styled Creative create such awesome events and they always seem to be having such a fun time. Check out these amazing boxes.

I heard that Sweet Valley Twins was coming out with a follow up book as an adult version! Wow, must purchase the book. Memories of my childhood.

I am so loving this Super Hero themed party. I feel that even though it is for a child, you could completely transform it into an adults birthday as well.

My girlfriends are starting to have babies. Maybe Auntie Becca can plan a baking birthday party for one of them some day.

Beau and I went to the South Beach Wine & Food Festival last year. It was such a fun day! I can't wait to go back next year. If you do not have any plans tomorrow and you just happen to be in Miami...run, go! The event is a wine and food lovers paradise set up on South Beach.

Looking for some new prints, I fell in LOVE with these paintings from Janet Hill Studio on Etsy.

Lucile's Kitchen ~ Etsy Shop

My wonderful girlfriend Cerys sent me this Etsy shop earlier this week, Lucile's Kitchen. Lucile is a beautiful French illustrator who paints watercolors and sketches of pretty food prints. I am so in love with her pretty images.

Samsung PN50C680 Plasma Television Review

Samsung PN50C680 Plasma Television Review
It’s back to the Samsung pile to get us today’s dose of plasma fun, and we’ve got another great one in the form of the Samsung PN50C680. We’ve had a lot of good Samsungs, and thankfully, this one will match up.

The Samsung PN50C680 is a fifty inch 1080p plasma television that offers two ten watt speakers with SRS TruSurround, a game mode for improved image quality in high-speed video situations, Samsung’s Touch of Color for an extra aesthetic push, BD Wise systems, ConnectShare to access those USB drives through the television, Anynet Plus, four HDMI inputs, a USB port, a PC input, two component inputs, a headphone jack, two composite inputs and a digital audio output.

The display looks great–fifty inch 1080p is hard to do much else but look great–and the sound is also pretty nice at that. Once again SRS TruSurround shows up and gives everything a sorely needed shot in the arm. And also, you’ll get a nice mix here between support for old and new components. It’s a very nicely put together package overall, and that should get your interest.

What will clearly keep that interest, however, is that two places are selling these for under a thousand bucks each, and that’s an excellent price for a high quality piece of hardware like this.

The Samsung PN50C680 is big, looks great, sounds great and is priced right, so if you’re looking for a new television to cap off your home theater, give this one a second look.

HP TouchPad Tablet Specifications with the WebOS

HP Touchpad is a tablet in size from 9.7 inches diagonally (by approximation we can speak of a 10 ” tablet) XGA 1024x768pixel screen resolution and capacitive technology to multiple points of contact (multitouch). The diagonal and the resolution of display are the same the iPad for Apple, so that the size of the two tablets are very similar.

The HP TouchPad hardware is center on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform of dual-CPU version clocked at 1.2 GHz The two ARM processors are able to support fully and efficiently multitasking user experience that rivals that of the common PC.

The built-in graphics accelerator allows you to play, even if we do not know with what framerate and with what level of detail. HP showed a demo of the Armageddon Squadron II game and know that there is a version from Angry Birds for WebOS. Staying on the theme of digital entertainment, certainly the most interesting feature is the presence of a decoding engine compatible MPEG4 video formats and H.264. It means that the HP tablet is capable of playing HD movies, maybe enjoying the sound from the speakers signed Beats Audio.

From the information gathered by fellow Americans, we learn that HP TouchPad will be distributed initially only in a version with WiFi connectivity, the model will come equipped with 3G modem later in 2011. Even without mobile broadband connectivity, however, HP Touchpad will manage calls and SMS hooking onto the Palm smartphone.

Between HP TouchPad and Palm smartphone is a perfect symbiosis in fact favored by the latest generation of Touchstone technology: SMS can be read and accept calls directly from the tablet, you can exchange links by touching the two devices (so-called “tap”), and more.

Many sensors available, useful for saving power, for better and more intuitive to use or play: ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, the TouchPad has nothing to envy to the best-stocked Android tablet. Will also feature an A-GPS receiver, but only on the TouchPad 3G, the reason one can easily imagine when one considers that already combines Qualcomm 3G modem and GPS receiver on his Gobi.

In the presentation made himself a quick mention of accessories, including highlight HP Touchstone a stand or music stand that is able to feed over the air (wireless charger) TouchPad: just place the tablet on the stand to recharge!

AOC rolls out new Aire Black LED monitor

AOC rolls out new Aire Black LED monitor
AOC has a spanking new Aire Black LED monitor for the masses, although this time around, they won’t be too large of a size that makes it easy on your eyes if you have plenty of information to display. What it does, however, is offer a budget-friendly alternative coming in screen sizes of 20”, 22”, and 23”. Boasting of a glossy piano-black monitor, these will also be more than proud of being called one of the world’s slimmest display panels.

You can expect to see some bonus features on this all-black model such as embedded Screen+ software that lets you divide the screen into four different self-contained work areas – and we don’t suppose having a social network run on one of them all the time is out of the question.

The Aire Black LED monitor, as previously mentioned above, will ship in 20-inch, 22-inch and 23-inch sizes, going by the model numbers e2043Fk ($129), e2243Fwk ($149) abd e2343Fk ($179)m respectively. Other hardware specifications will include a 50,000,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, 5ms response time, and a DVI-D with HDCP input that makes your HD viewing experience a cinch.

Sony’s new TV can give two pictures to two viewers

Sony’s new TV can give two pictures to two viewers
Sony has recently announced the development of a technology called dual-view, which allows two different viewers to see two different images.

I suppose that this could be used for when two different viewers want to watch two different shows, but they will have to wear headphones so they don’t hear each each others’ audio.

It would appear that Sony wants to market this for gamers. So if two people are playing a game with a split screen, the screen would not have to split.

At a recent press conference, where Sony showed off this technology, the company warned that “this will make your eyes hurt”. Clearly, some more development is required. Until then, the results are like 3D.

The Messy Ponytail

A couple of weeks ago I saw this image on Pinterest {one of my new favorite sites} and have been meaning to try it out since. I have always been a fan of the second day {or third day} hair in a teased messy ponytail, but some how my pouf always falls in a few hours. Thank youJoanna from a Cup of Jo for putting together this post! I tried it out today and the bobby pins so help piece it all together.
Isn't her friend Caroline so cute with the messy pony and the bright lipstick. A messy but oh so chic look!

And here are some of the JCrew looks that Joanna was referring too. Yes, they look adorable and their messy ponytails are just perfect!

Bryce Dallas Howard for Kate Spade!

I am absolutely in LOVE with the new Kate Spade Spring/Summer campaign featuring the bright and cheery Bryce Dallas Howard! The photos in the campaign are so happy! I love the rainbow colors, her bright red hair and I love love love the splashes of hot pink. I told beau earlier this year as we walked into the Georgetown Kate Spade store, "sigh, this is one of my happy places for sure!". Oh yes, it is!
The Candy Shop Jeanette Dress is on my Spring Wish List for SURE!
The Essex Scout bag would be a great addition to my closet. What girl doesn't need a hot pink purse!

See, Bryce and I have something in common already, we both love and have the Camille Bag from last season, how cute is it! Yep, my orange loving beau surprised me with it for Christmas.

Oh Kate, you always seem to have amazing items, campaigns, you are fabulous for sure.

xoxo from a Kate Spade Addict~ Becca

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo review, feature and specs

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo
Sony Ericsson has recently announced a mobile phone, called the XPERIA Neo. Couple of months back, there was a news that the mobile phone manufacturer is bringing two new handsets called Anzu and Hallon. The former one was renamed and announced as Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc, but there was a speculation about the later one, which is supposed to include the similar form factor of Vivaz. Now, there is end of all such speculations as the handset is named as Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo and it will be available in the market by the month of March, 2011.

The similarity of SE XPERIA Neo with SE Vivaz ends with the form factor. The functionalities of the phone are of higher standard and you can clearly understand that once you go through the detailed specifications in the following portions of the review. The phone definitely looks cute and attractive. It may not be as dashing and high-end as Samsung Galaxy S II, which is also announced during the same period, but it definitely has its own sets of appeal. The handset fits well on your palm and you will surely like its semi-anodised finish along with easy to access key arrangement at the front and superb front facing camera. The cool ear piece and light sensor adds up to the benefits of the device.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo – Easy Handling of Control Keys
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo
The quality of the sensor is definitely much better than the usual VGA hardware devices that are available in plenty these days. Apart from that, the other furniture of the phone is nicely arranged as well. You can easily access the power or lock key in the right side of the phone, irrespective of the big screen display. Right under it, you can access the volume key to control the sound. In fact, you can easily adjust the volume by holding the phone to your ears.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo – Different Ports

The built of the phone is quite sturdy like the other handsets by Sony Ericsson. SE XPERIA Neo looks strong with its plastic and chrome type covering. You will find three ports in the mobile phone for diverse functionalities such as mini HDMI out connection, 3.5mm headphone jack and a microUSB connection port. It is expected that Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo also loads a cable to support functionality of its HDMI port so that you can stream high quality High Definition movies directly on your television screen.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo – Display and look

The display of XPERIA Neo is a big highlight. The size of the screen is quite big at 3.7 inches and being a LED backlit LCD capacitive touch screen, it is going to provide a superb experience to the users. The colour visibility of the phone is 16 millions and its resolution is 480 x 854 pixels. It also loads the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine, which ensures the experience of watching movies or videos over the phone will be immaculate. Other major highlights of the display includes scratch resistant surface, multi touch input method, proximity sensor for auto turn off, accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate, and Timescape™ UI.

The appearance of the phone is minimal, yet it is attractive. On top of the display and the back of the phone, you will notice the logo of Sony Ericsson, while the major functional keys (‘back,’ ‘home,’ & ‘menu’) are at the bottom. Right below these keys, you will find the label of ‘XPERIA,’ while you have camera lenses at the top of the front and the back of the handset.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo – Storage and camera

The storage capacity is very crucial for the smartphones because the number of features and applications are quite high. XPERIA Neo is a sophisticated smart phone and hence it needs good storage capacity and Sony Ericsson does not disappoint in this aspect. The device is equipped with a 320 MB internal memory and a microSD™ card slot that can load memory up to 32 GB. As the internal memory is not big enough, the phone comes with a 8 GB memory card that will be included within the package.

Do you want to know what the biggest highlight of the phone is after its excellent display features, then it has to be the camera. SE XPERIA Neo loads an 8 mega pixel snapper that is capable to click images at 3264 x 2448 pixels resolution along with high end features such as LED flash, auto focus, touch focus, geo tagging, face and smile detection and video calling. The features of the camera are no less than a decent digital camera. It can also record high quality videos at 720p @30 fps with video light and continuous auto focus. Therefore, the experience of both still photography and video recording is awesome.
Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo – Music and Video

If you liked the excellent features of XPERIA Neo’s camera, then the other multimedia features like music and video players will also impress you. The music player can play diverse music files such as MP3/ WMA/ WAV/ eAAC+; while there is a video playback that can stream MP4/H.264/WMV. There is Stereo FM radio with RDS for added advantage to the music lovers, while you can connect the handset to the TV via HDMI port to enjoy HD quality video on big screen.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo is powered by Android™ v2.3 Gingerbread and Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon 1 GHz processor. Along with that the availability of HSDPA and Wi-Fi® 802.11 b/g/n makes sure that the experience over the phone will be quite fast and easy.
