Toshiba has recently announced two new netbooks to the ever growing market. These two netbooks, the Toshiba NB500 and NB520 share a similar design and 10.1-inch LED backlit display, but have slightly different specifications.
We are hearing slightly conflicting news right now, and will confirm this at a later date. The Toshiba NB520 is powered by the new Intel Atom N550 dual core processor, while the Toshiba NB500 is powered by a single core processor (N450, N455 needs confirmation).
Both have a very night design and are just 17mm at the thinnest point and weigh just 1.32kg.
As with previous Toshiba netbooks, both the NB520 and NB500 feature a 6-cell battery which should provide the NB500 with ten hours use, and the NB520 with eight hours.
What makes the Toshiba NB520 standout from the other netbooks on the market is its sound system. It features speakers from Harmon/Kardon for extra powerful and clear audio. This is also paird with Dolby Advanced Audio technology.
Both netbooks feature 1GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, webcam, multicard reader, and sleep and charge USB ports.
US dates are currently unknown, but the Toshiba NB500, NB520 should be available in January 2011. Prices are currently unknown.
