Samsung B5722 Review

Samsung unleashed the new B5722 touchscreen mobile with dual sim capacity. The B5722 comes with the advanced features like intuitive touch screen interface, full Querty keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, FM radio, DNSe and internet. A dedicated key is provided to easy access to the dual sim functionality of the phone. It is mainly targeted the middle range mobiles. This phone is specially designed to target Indian market. Dual SIM lets you to handle your both Official and personal world on a single phone securely.

Design

The Samsung B5722 is pretty and nicely designed phone. It comes in Black, Dark Brown and Pink. The B5722 has sleek and nice exterior. It measures 104 x 54.9 x 14.4 mm and weighs around 105grams. Both the top and bottom end are rounded and curved. It comes with a 2.8 inch QVGA touch screen, which offers resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and supports 256K colours. The sun legibility is relatively good.

The Samsung B5722 runs on a Samsung’s own operating system “TouchWiz Lite v1.0”. The TouchWiz offers simple, easy and convenient user interface. The Navigation in the phone will be lot easy. It comes with full sliding Querty keyboard. The keys are neatly arranged and enable easy typing. The Upper slide has only few buttons, which enhances the look of the phone. The Upper slide has only two call buttons and a D-pad, to navigate in the menu. The phone is solid and gives the sturdy feel in the hand, and fits nicely into the pocket. The support plug-ins are provided for the microSD, microUSB and standard 3.5mm jack. Camera and couple LEDs are placed at the backside of the camera.

Specifications

The Samsung B5722 has internal memory of 30MB. It also provides the microSD support. External memory through microSD can be extendible up to 8GB. The Samsung B5722 supports Quad band GSM/GPRS, 3G, EDGE (Class 10, 236.8 kbps), and Bluetooth with A2D feature and USB. It does not support Wi-Fi, WLAN, 3G and infrared. The B5722 comes with good web browser, which supports WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML. It is preloaded with few Java games. Download options also available.

The Samsung B5722 comes with music player, which supports most of the popular music formats such as MP3, eAAC+, MP4, and WMA. The music quality is awesome and loud. There is a video player, supports WMV, 3GP, MPEG4, H.264 and H.263 Video Formats. But it does not support the DIVX and XVID video formats. It also has FM radio with RDS feature. FM radio can store up to 50 radio channels. Speakers come with innovative DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine), which will improve the sound quality and gives 3D feel.

The B5722 comes preloaded with social networking apps. The Intuitive TouchWiz provides widgets for social networking sites, which lets you to access them in one touch. It is nicely integrated with Twitter, Facebook, Orkut, MySpace, PhotoBucket, Flickr and Friendstar. It supports usual messaging options like MMS, SMS, email and PIM. You can stay connected with your loved ones with help of apps like Gtalk, AIM and ICQ.

The Samsung B5722 comes with an impressive 3.2 megapixel camera with good resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. Thankfully it has provided with a flash, which facilitates you to take snaps in dark as well. The camera also features some basic editing options. It also preloaded with app for sharing photos with the social networking sites. You can also record the videos at the rate of modest 15fps. Both the image and video quality are reasonably good.

The Samsung B5722 has some miscellaneous features like features Document and PDF viewer, Alarm, organizer, To-Do / Tasks, Calendar, Image editor, Calculator, and Voice memo.

The Samsung B5722 is powered by Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery. It has good battery life of 400 hrs on standby and up to 4 hrs 30 min talktime. It also comes with security app like Mobile Tracker which helps you to find the mobile when you lost it.

It is mainly targeted at the cost cautious Indian customer. It will be available India from November 2010. It is priced at Rs. 11600 in India.
