Royal Party ~ Part One

Last week I had a Royal Party and I have been so excited to share the pictures with you! After a busy Easter weekend I finally had time to get it together today and share the details with you. I hope you find the party fit for a queen, or a princess like soon to be Kate!
I have had these plates for a couple of years and didn't they come in handy for a perfect soiree!

Katie with Stella and Dot brought all of the beautiful jewels! {For those of you who couldn't make it, and would like some for yourself, you can go to www.stelladot.com/katiemoses then click find a hostess in the upper right corner and enter my name and start shopping! This necklace is one of my favorite pieces of bling to wear to a party or dress up a simple lbd!

The tea towel I purchased from Taylors Type on Etsy created a perfect, simple and easy statement above my mantel.
I set out an easy mix of roses that made me think of the beautiful roses in all of the British Gardens, ooo, they have such beautiful gardens even in small houses! Place a mix of roses in tea cups and tea tins for a simple chic Brit feel.
I sported my own British headpiece at the party. Kate Middleton always knows how to sport a stylish fascinator so I had to break out my own. Laura from Make Merry Events and I had a fabulous evening!
Laura created this amazing English Bunting Garland for the evening. Check out her adorable blog for a template of how you can create your own.
At the end of the evening after ordering some jewels for your mum, drinking a few glasses of prosecco and celebrating the upcoming wedding celebration everyone left with a little royal candy.

Easy ideas and a great reason to get together! I will post more about the English menu party ideas to make! oooo, can't wait to see the real Royal Affair on Friday morning.

As Seen In

Wednesday night when I hosted my Royal party, it was also a royal jewels Stella and Dot party in the same night! Our thought was, a fun excuse to get girls together to mingle, a reason to talk Royal Wedding talk and a good time to buy some presents for your Mum for Mother's Day!

I know I have talked about them before, but honestly, there are so many cute pieces available on Stella and Dot, I love the jewelry! Recently I have seen their items featured in so many magazines and online. Look below for all of the beautiful new pieces they have brought out this season. Adorable, stylish, really cute.
The silver chain necklace above, I have it. Gorgeous! I can't tell you the amount of compliments I get on it! Paired with a white t shirt, a dressy LBD, jeans and heels, its fabulous!

If you are not familiar with the company, read this article about the Founder, Jessica Herrin here. Listed as #67 on Inc. 500 Superstar Entrepreneurs, that's amazing! She has built quite the company.

Check out the site here. For those of you who couldn't make it to my Royal Affair, if you want to place an order for you or in time for Mother's Day you can go to the site then click find a hostess in the upper right corner and enter my name and start shopping!

You need some jewels to dress in the correct british wedding attire correct? Or I am sure you will find something for your mum!

Happy shopping!

A Royal Affair

Tonight I am hosting a Royal Affair! I am so looking forward to a wonderful little get together with the help of Katie Moses from Stella and Dot and Laura McGlynn from Make Merry! . It should be a fun night of royal jewels {oh yes, Stella and Dot has some royal worthy jewels}, scones, bubbly, British gossip tabloid reading and meeting new Florida girls. Pictures to come later this week. Wish you could all make it!

Princess Bride

Last week beau decided that since we are heading to London in June we mine as well {twist my arm} head to Ireland and visit his college friend who works at Lough Eske Castle . I'm not going to lie, when I looked at the website I may have let out a little cheer of excitement. Honestly, the place is GORGEOUS, it looks like a dreamland. His friend has already reminded me many of times that is one of Ireland's number one wedding sites, hint hint, anyways....

Filled with excitement of staying at a beautiful castle {now a gorgeous resort with running water and all of those amenities that the true old castles lacked} I begin browsing the gorgeous weddings that have taken place at real castles. You would truly be a princess bride getting married here...or at least feel like one!

I had to post this picture of the bridesmaid. I mean really, if you are attending a castle wedding you must dress in style for sure!

run run run

The Boston Marathon was this morning. Wow, a dream to complete! After four marathons and almost ready to turn 30 {almost} I really want to get myself back out there for number five. I saw this image online this weekend and it made me laugh. If I can't pull myself out of bed in the morning for a quick run, then I should think of the last cookie I ate and pull myself out of bed to run it off:)
I had to share! Congrats to all of the Boston runners!!!!xoxo~Rebecca

Three New Cookbooks by some Chic Chefs

I have always been a lover of a nice new cookbook. I am perfectly happy spending a couple of hours at a bookstore browsing the cookbook section, planning when I am going to make all of the new recipes to look like just the photo. I browse through the books planning a reason to have a get together so I can make a new recipe. My love for entertaining and my love for cooking are always a great excuse to add a new book to my shelve! Right now I have a bit of a problem because I kind of want three! There are so many chic chefs out there writing beautiful books. Yes, there are my forever go to female chic chefs, Martha, Giada, Nigella, but now there are some new ladies on the block.

Pretty Delicious ~ A beautiful book written by Candice Kumai, the Stiletto Chef! Yep, Candice was on the first season of Top Chef, she was the "young culinary student". Well, she has come a long way and her blog and her book show it. I can't wait to get my hands on this healthy and gorgeous book!
Oh Miss Gwyneth, really, is there anything that you can't do right? Love her! I mean honestly, acting, singing, her GOOP blog, her workout regime, GLEE, her adorable family, her style, correct...the list goes on. Well now with her cooking passion, sigh, it is the icing on the cake of reasons as to why Gwyneth Paltrow is truly amazing. I just ordered the book, My Fathers Daughter and yep, I'm pretty psyched.
Sugar Baby Cookbook is written by Gesine Bullock - Prado {correct this is Sandra's sister}. Gesine owns an adorable bakery in Vermont and seeing the photos in her book makes me want to print out that application for pastry school and over night it in the mail. Its such a pretty cookbook full of sweet dreamy photos. OOoooo, the life of owning a confectionery!

Romper Love

One of the flip flopping of life in Florida is certainly the change of your wardrobe. Almost being down here for a year I can look and my closet and count the four new pairs flip flops I have bought in the past 12 months. I can notice how the amount of sundresses and skirts I own far exceeds the amount of pants I own. My most recent love is an item I never thought I would ever wear again since sporting them as a little kid...the romper. Yes, I have a bit of romper love!

This heart romper I have been stalking at Forever 21. I saw a girl wearing it at brunch and after searching high and low I found it sold out! Anybody find it, I will pay!

{forever 21, modcoth, Madewell}

{Shoshanna, um I love you. Why are you also sold out in my size everywhere!}

Morada Bay Beach Cafe

This weekend I had one of those moments where I thought, hhmmm, this part of living in Florida isn't so bad. I know, I said it! Friday night Beau and I drove to the Keys for the Seven Mile Bridge Run early Saturday morning. I was so happy that the Beau finished his first race and we finished in pretty good time in the sunshine! The race ended in a little park where I took off my running shoes and walked in the ocean, who can complain.

Afterwards we explored a little bit of the islands driving through neighborhoods, laying on the quiet beach and stopped at Morada Bay Beach Cafe that had been highly recommended to me. Pretty much, I am in love. I walked outside and the first thing I said was, "I want to have a party here". That is usually how my mind works. The restaurant is vibrant and bright and looks right out onto the water. Drinking a margarita here in the afternoon made me forget about my week ahead and pretty much anything else going on!

I would love to string lights above the whole area and have a great event on the sand. Guests could even arrive by boat, watch the sunset and dance the night away under the stars. The colored mismatched chairs would provide such a fun decor element! Fish tacos, a margarita, Beau, the sun, the Keys.....highly recommended. When can I go back?

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday everybody!

I had a fabulous weekend last week with my college besties, a four day work week and I am already SO looking forward to starting another wonderful weekend ahead! Beau and I are driving to the Keys after work tonight to run the seven mile bridge run in Marathon Key. Seven miles of ocean on both sides of you, should be quite the morning jog! Sunday I am getting together with a new blogger friend, Laura with Make Merry Events to talk about some fun future projects. In the middle of this I'll be browsing a lot of links {as usual!}. I hope your weekend is going to be as sunny and beautiful as I'm hoping mine is!

Kate Spade is doing it again...major 25% sale!

I saw this NYC map that I want in our home and I can't stop thinking of it.

Wow, this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty was beautiful, but the welcome reception and the post party were truly a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

I need to pick up In Style's latest color issue because I was in love with the bright Eddie Ross table. Also, I wish I was still in DC because I would so want to attend the design event that Eddie will be speaking at on Tuesday, click here to register!

And last but not least, how many times can I say how much I was loving the invite that Ritzy Bee featured yesterday. They are right, it is fancy but not shmancy! I think it is delightful. How much would you love receiving this in the mail.

Happy weekend everybody!

messy bun

Hello Goody Spin Pins. I love you. I saw these little pins a couple of months ago and was completely interested in them. I thought, well, it would just be another hair accessory I buy, I try and I wear once. Two weeks ago while browsing the aisles at the fabulous Tarjay, I decided, why not give them a try. Well, I'm in love!
These little metal corkscrews make the perfect messy bun so easy. When the girls were visiting this weekend we all bought a pack and I think we all had nice little chignons laying by the pool! Honestly, forget the bobby pins, forget the little clear hair elastics. This new little product just entered my beauty staples.

Lauren Conrad, how she always manages to have the perfect messy bun, I get it, she has ten people working on her. Well, a few little hair screws and you will be having her look soon. Oh yay! Just in time for a weekend out, a new do, enjoy!
